Orlando's restaurant was nominated for the Neighborhood Gathering Place of the Year Award. This was their first award nomination, and we were all very proud because we truly felt they deserved it.
So, after weeks of waiting, and me searching for the right dress, the day was here. Myney, Orlando and I got dressed to the 9s and took a few pictures. Then we were off to the party of the year, leaving Annie with her favorite babysitters. (Thanks Abby, Ann and Nathalie.)
We kept our hopes up that they would win the award, but in the end, it went to one of their competitors who had been nominated in this category for three years in a row. Now, we're just hoping for a nomination again next year.
The party was a ton of fun, even if we didn't win. We danced and drank and had a great time.
