She's a Big Girl Now

DC law says that all children must ride in approved safety seats until they are 8 years old and weigh at least 80 lbs. After a bit of research, we came to the conclusion that Anastasia is both tall enough and heavy enough to make the move to a booster seat. So, in advance of our visit to West Virginia this weekend, we decided that we'd upgrade her from the toddler seat to a booster seat.

She was very excited when she saw it for the first time. Even more happy when she learned that she could unbuckle it herself. She's very comfy in her new seat, and it worked great for the long ride to Hall and Amy's.

Does this mean that she's as tall as an 8 year old...or that there are some really puny 8 year olds out there?

No, she has to be in a purpose built seat, either 5-point harness seat or a child booster until she's at least 8 years old, at least 4 ft 9 in tall and weighs at least 80 lbs (which means she may need to be in the seat longer if she's still super skinny when she's 8).
